Three weeks into the new year and I'm just barely starting to think about what I want my goals to be. We just got back home from Utah last night after being there for three and a half weeks!! Since it felt like being on vacation, I didn't feel very motivated to improve in certain areas of my life. For example, keeping up on my blog!! But now it feels good to be back in Birmingham with my husband, getting back into our routine of things and I feel more motivated. Yay!
We seriously love it here. I can't believe our time here is half way up. We love our British friends (and our American friends here!), we love our ward, we love our apartment and it's location and how convenient it is to live in the city. We love that we can go to London whenever we want and also that we have friends that live there that make it even more fun! We love that it's so affordable to travel to other countries in Europe! Don't count on us saving any money---we've got places to see while we're here! It's also great that we are living apart from our families, forcing us to rely on each other and help us grow stronger as a couple. I think we will always look back and cherish our memories we've had in England.
Anyway, we had a great Christmas with family! We spent the morning opening presents at Tanner's parents' house and then went to my family's house to Skype my brother that is on an LDS mission in Raleigh North Carolina. It was our first time Skype-ing him! He's been there for 5 months and it was good to talk to him:) He's loving it over there. After Skype-ing we opened some more presents with my family and just spent the day with them. I have a few pictures from that day.
It snowed a lot during the time we were in Utah. The first big snow day was on Christmas, it was beautiful and I'm so glad it snowed! I quickly got sick of it though when I had to drive in it a lot. We spent New Years weekend at a family cabin with the Fredricksons! All of tanner's sisters and their families were all there. It was a blast! We did some sledding an snowmobiling (first time).
I started another semester of online school through Weber State. I had to do a week of school work in Utah and I'm a little behind because it was kind of distracting over there;)
Wish me luck as I try to catch up on school with this terrible jet-lag!!
It's nice to be home. Some friends from our ward, Abbey and Zach, had there family come visit them over Christmas since they are from Utah too, and they used our apartment when we were gone, so it made me happy that it was put to good use while we were gone. Abbey and Zach did a great job maintaining the apartment and even left us stocked with Diet Coke and some pretty flowers! It was nice to come home to a clean apartment too :) Especially after such a LONG day of travel. ugh.
Thanks for reading!! My mind is everywhere right now, so hopefully it all makes sense.
Enjoy the pics.
